Divine Mercy Novena – From Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday

What Is the Divine Mercy Novena?

The Divine Mercy Novena is one of the most powerful devotions in the Catholic Church, revealed directly by Jesus to St. Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s.
It begins on Good Friday and ends on Divine Mercy Sunday, the Feast declared by Saint John Paul II.

If you are praying for conversion, forgiveness, healing, deliverance, or trust in God’s mercy, this novena is a fountain of grace — especially for sinners, the dying, the lost, and those in despair.

Historical Origin of the Divine Mercy Novena

The devotion comes from the mystical revelations given to St. Faustina, a humble Polish nun, between 1931–1938.

Jesus appeared to her and gave her:

  • The Divine Mercy Image
  • The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
  • The Hour of Mercy (3 PM)
  • The Divine Mercy Novena

In her diary (Divine Mercy in My Soul), Jesus said:

“Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask is compatible with My will.”

He promised extraordinary graces on Divine Mercy Sunday, especially the complete forgiveness of sins and punishment for those who go to Confession and receive Communion.

🌟 A Documented Miracle of Divine Mercy

One of the most famous miracles occurred in 2000 during the canonization process of St. Faustina.

A U.S. priest, Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, reported the healing of a terminally ill woman named Maureen Digan, who suffered for years with incurable lymphedema.

She traveled to Faustina’s tomb in Poland. After years of medical treatments and suffering, she cried out:

“Jesus, I trust in You. Sister Faustina, ask Jesus to heal me!”

Instantly, the swelling disappeared.
Doctors documented her complete cure — impossible by medical standards.

This miracle led directly to the beatification of St. Faustina.

Today, millions testify to physical healings, emotional liberation, restored families, and miraculous conversions through the Divine Mercy devotion.

and of those who as yet do not know You,

for endless ages. Amen.
