Rosary Novena for the Pope’s Intentions

The Catholic Church invites the faithful to pray regularly for the intentions of the Holy Father. By doing so, we unite ourselves spiritually with the Pope, successor of Saint Peter, and with the universal mission of the Church.

Praying a Rosary novena for the Pope’s intentions is an act of communion, obedience, and love for the Church. Through Mary’s intercession, we ask that the Holy Spirit guide the Pope in leading the People of God, strengthening the unity of the Church, and promoting peace, truth, and charity throughout the world.

This novena is traditionally prayed for nine consecutive days, concluding on the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter (February 22), which celebrates the authority entrusted by Christ to Saint Peter and his successors.

How to Pray This Novena

  • Pray one Rosary each day for nine consecutive days
  • Offer each day’s Rosary for the specific intention listed below
  • Pray the Mysteries of the Rosary according to the day of the week, or any Mysteries you prefer
  • Begin with the Opening Prayer and end with the Closing Prayer each day

Opening Prayer (Prayed Every Day)

Lord Jesus Christ,
You entrusted the care of Your Church to Saint Peter and his successors.
With faith and love, I offer this Rosary for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Grant him wisdom, strength, and holiness,
